It's a podcast with young men, so there's lots of top bantz, but in between Mason Crane - England, Hampshire, Sussex and now Glamorgan - has some interesting things to say about how we can encourage spin bowling in the County Championship.

The Secret Support Worker discusses what older people in care homes need to thrive - and what they are given. Well, gentle reader, I did it. I walked away from the most amazing and most magical (and most badly paid) of jobs. I don't really know how it happened, but for the last few months I have been in a different world, working in a care home remembering the Britain of the 1940s to the 1970s with a group of my most elderly fellow citizens. It was a bit like being Dominic Sandbrook but without the podcast and the Daily ...

Yesterday Rishi Sunak announced a plan to substantially increase UK defence spending, up to 2.5% of GDP by 2030. This announcement moves the Tory position from an aspiration to achieve this "when economic circumstances allow" to a firm plan with actual budget cash numbers from this year through to 2030. An expensive mistake

Having effectively used up the entire road safety budget to spend £34 million introducing a 20mph default speed limit into Wales, Welsh Ministers have now performed a u-turn and said that local councils can restore some of the 30mph roads to their original speed restriction. The catch is that the changes could cost up to £5 million more. At least the Welsh Government will pay for this, but this £39 million is money that could have been spent elsewhere, not least in improving safety around schools. The obsession with introducing rarely used cycle tracks at the cost of tens of ...
