If you approached Theddingworth station along the gated road from Laughton and saw the station master's house, signal box and station building, you might fear being held up by a mixed freight or a stopping train to Rugby. But the station closed, along with the whole line from Stamford via Market Harborough to Rugby, in June 1966. She had a good look at me: the way I stand, and type, grip things, and exciting stuff like that, and eventually declared that I have bad posture, stiff wrists and hypermobile knees. Somehow, despite knowing exactly what hypermobility means, I had to giggle at the mental image my brain generated for me, in which I was chasing my kneecaps around the house. This Monday I attended one of Warley Community Association's regular meetings. The group is a fantastic example of a community group that does a huge amount for the area. In the past, I have highlighted residents' concerns about the former garage site in Benvie Road, where, a couple of years ago, the owner finally demolished most of the derelict building that had been a target for vandalism and fires. It is arguable that the current row between London Mayoral candidates amounts to the further Americanisation of British politics, in which the personal always seems to trump policy. With Easter Monday (11th April) being a Bank Holiday, Northumberland County Council bin collections are put back one day. If your collection day would usually be on a Monday , next week it will be collected on Tuesday etc Next week is a blue week (ie Dry recycling)
