Trump and Johnson are two peas in a pod Lib Dems: Tory Gower candidate should be removed Blocking intelligence report undermines the democratic process Trump and Johnson are two peas in a pod Responding to President Trump's comments that Boris Johnson was "the right man for the time" and he should "come together" with Nigel Farage, Liberal Democrat Shadow Foreign Secretary Chuka Umana said: Donald Trump and Boris Johnson are just two peas in a pod. Surrounded by Lib Dem women candidates and MPs, Jo Swinson this afternoon said that the Lib Dems were considering legal action to make sure the voice of remain was heard in the leaders' debates. Watch her here. .@ITV: It's nonsense to suggest that your TV debate should go ahead Leave Vs Leave, with no voice for the millions of people who voted to Remain who want to #StopBrexit and stay in the EU. This is Beeston Weir on the River Trent. It is one of the reasons you have to leave the river to get from from Beeston to West Bridgford and use the Nottingham Canal instead. Chris Fewtrell, whose TV writing credits include Coronation Street as well as Peak Practice and Rosemary and Thyme, has been selected as the Liberal Democrat candidate for South Staffordshire at next month's general election. He will take on sitting Conservative MP, who is amorous fireplace salesman turned education secretary Gavin Williamson. Fewtrell told the Express & Star: "I feel particularly angry at some of the spurious claims made before, during and after the referendum campaign, and especially since the current Prime Minister has taken office. "Very many hard-working, intelligent, patriotic people voted Leave, having been deliberately misled by an alliance ...

Second paragraph of third chapter:No eyes were cast in the direction of Chile Gongaro to see what might be the effect on him of the implied aspersion upon his sub-continent. Chile Gongaro continued to grin broadly. The fact that his friends rarely displayed any con-sideration for his feelings might be taken as an indication of the extent to which they regarded him as one of themselves. The Grand Duke Ferdinando, whose sister was married to the President of Peru and who ordinarily took an insult to one of his family as an insult to himself, the head of the family, ...

We shall explain that the Mandate has proved to [...]

In the shadow of the ancient Athenian acropolis where Aristotle and Socrates once lectured on ideas that would go on to change the world, Hans van Baalen, president of the Alliance of Liberals and Democrats for Europe Party (ALDE) launched the organisations 40th congress under the banners "mission is possible" and "liberal renaissance". His audience included delegations from 67 full and associate member parties, as well as individual members who had assembled from across the European continent. On Saturday, I went to a football match with my daughter. It was at Craven Cottage, a ground I have always wanted to visit. For reference, I haven't been to a football game in a long time; to give you a time scale here, at the last match I attended, David Beckham was playing. We were merrily on our way until we got to Earl's Court, where we discovered the District Line had been closed, completely. Not because of an incident, but on purpose. Getting the rest of the way to Fulham was difficult and time-consuming as a result. As ...

The UK Government's moratorium on fracking, announced on Friday, must rank as one of their biggest u-turns. The moratorium leaves the government with an option to restart fracking in future years. However, many critics believe the technology is not suitable for the UK: "Fracking is utterly incompatible with our aims of ending the burning of fossil fuels in this country in a couple of decades," said geologist Professor Stuart Haszeldine, of Edinburgh University. "Pursuing the technology of fracking while embracing the concept of having a carbon-free society is an example of national schizophrenia. It has wasted millions of pounds of ...
